Rollup 4 install, Transport service stuck on "starting"
Hi, I am currently running Exchange 2007 sp1, rollup 4, on Server 2003 x64 will all of the latest updates. After installing Rollup 4, the transport service didn't start and was stuck "starting". Reboot, and same issue. I followed the instructions in, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/944752, but still have the same problem with the server. .net 3.5 is installed. All third party software has been removed, such as Trend Micro ScanMail and ORF 4.2. I attempted and uninstall of Update Rollup 4 and it never completes, i reran the install and no change. Please help. thanks, Christian

Hi, 1. First please check Exchange version from register and post here. HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\v8.0\<name of role>. 2. Please check if any watermark under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\v8.0\<name of role>. 3. Please check settings on Manage auditing and security log a. Open the Default Domain Controllers Security Settings snap-in on the domain controller specified in the event description. b. In the console tree, under Security Settings, expand Local Policies, and then click User Rights Assignments. c. In the results pane, double-click Manage auditing and security log. Verify that both the Exchange Servers group and the Exchange Enterprise Servers group are listed. d. Make sure that the Exchange server is still a member of the Exchange Domain Servers group. Also, make sure that the Exchange Domain Servers group is a member of Exchange Enterprise Servers group. e. Make sure that the group permissions are inherited by the Microsoft Exchange computer account. 4. Please check if you have set proxy on Exchange Server. You can run "Proxycfg.exe" from a command prompt and then check IE proxy from properties of Internet Explorer. 5. Please try to create ServicesPipeTimeout Dword key and then set the value as 240,000.Detail steps you can refer to the article below: The Windows Trace Session Manager service does not start and Event ID 7000 occurs http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839803 More related information share with you: A .NET Framework 2.0 managed application that has an Authenticode signature takes longer than usual to start http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936707/en-us Hope it helps.
